LDSL celebrate National Learning Disability week

Hundreds of players will be living their dreams this weekend in two Community Integrated Care Learning Disability Super League festivals, celebrating National Learning Disability Week.

An impressive 19 clubs from all over the country will be welcomed to events hosted by Hull KR Foundation and Warrington Wolves Foundation on Sunday.

Organised by the RFL in association with Community Integrated Care, one of the UK’s most successful social care charities, this adapted, non-competitive version of rugby league is enabling dreams to come true on and off the field – tackling exclusion and enabling independence.

Sports Inclusion Communications Manager at Community Integrated Care, Lewis Webster said: “There is no better way to mark National Learning Disability Week than these festivals. They truly reflect the week’s theme of people who have learning disabilities being seen, valued and heard by society.

“The Community Integrated Care Learning Disability Super League enables people to achieve great things – representing the clubs that they love, making friends across teams, developing and showcasing their skills. These are life changing outcomes. The festivals will share inspiration and build awareness at this important time. Best of luck to all the participants – make it one to remember!”

Supporters wishing to attend the festivals can enter free of charge with parking available to all. The rugby league community is encouraged to attend and show their support for the players, their families and coaches.
