Wheelchair Reserves beat Hull FC

Wigan Warriors Wheelchair Reserves beat Hull FC Wheelchair reserves 34-4 on Sunday afternoon before the Super League side took on the same opponent.

Marking his debut with a try, Louis Telford was the first to cross the line with a breakaway from deep within his own half. Adding the extras, Mark Williams made it 6-0 to Wigan after a quarter of an hour.

It was Williams who then doubled the tally with a converted try of his own, after Daniel Dutson put him in at the corner. This took Wigan through to half time with a 12-0 scoreline.

Having come off the interchange bench at the break, Billy Ord quickly added to the score sheet when Tom Welch provided him with the final pass.

Starting to control the game, Dutson put in a delicately weighted shallow kick that saw Toby Burton-Carter touch the ball down just before the dead ball line. It was the try scorer again who converted the try for a 22-0 lead.

The hosts were still threatening the Wigan line and it was a right to left passing move that saw Justin Wells score in the corner.

Entering the final five minutes, Dutson and Welch combined with a neat wraparound play to give their side an overlap out wide. It was Welch who finished off the move with a try in the corner, whilst Williams was on hand to slot over the conversion.

Having started the scoring, Telford was to bring the game to a close with his second of the game, Dutson again the provider from a kick. Telford even slotted over the conversion to take his personally tally to 10 points for the afternoon.
