Luke Thompson has outlined the importance of wigan’s ‘itentsity’ and ‘attitude’ in friday night’s clash against castleford tigers.
The Warriors return to Betfred Super League action with a third visit of the season to the Mend-A-Hose Jungle less than a week after beating Warrington Wolves in the Betfred Challenge Cup Final at Wembley Stadium.
Reflecting on the Challenge Cup win, as well as the celebrations at the homecoming with supporters, Thompson said: “It was a great weekend although I’ve not had the chance yet to sit back and reflect on it – that’s something for the next few weeks.”
He added: “It was unreal to share all the celebrations with the fans inside Wembley and then again at the homecoming last Sunday. It was a great turnout and I hope everyone enjoyed themselves over the weekend.”
The Warriors have turned their attention to Friday night’s Betfred Super League clash against Castleford Tigers, and on the Round 14 fixture, Thompson said: “It’s good to be back out in the training paddock. The biggest challenge this week will be getting the mental side right and making sure we turn up ready to go again with with the right attitude.”
On facing Castleford Tigers, Thompson said: “We know the threats Castleford pose and playing at their place is always a challenge. Everyone can see they’ve improved as the season has gone on so we’ve got to make sure we start with the right intensity and show that we are up for the occasion.”
