Squad News
Wheelchair Head Coach Chris Greenhalgh has named his squad for the clash, with Declan Roberts to captain the side.
Coach and Player Quotes
Speaking ahead of the fixture, Head Coach Chris Greenhalgh said: “As Wigan Warriors we are looking forward to an opportunity to again take on some of the best players in Wheelchair Rugby League. Having recently played them in the European Cup game, we are keen to face them again.
“The fact it’s Wigan’s first Betfred Challenge Cup Final for the wheelchair team makes it that extra bit special, in particular with the Men’s team also playing in their final a week later. It’s shows we are clearly doing things in the right way as a club.”
He added: “Any opportunity to add silverware is precious and all of us, squad and staff, are looking forward to the challenge ahead.”
Jack Heggie also gave his thoughts ahead of the tie: “We’ve progressed as a team from pre-season to where we are now going into the Challenge Cup Final.”
Heggie added: “We’ve a tough run to the final – beating Halifax in the quarter-final and Leeds in the semi’s – and it doesn’t get any easier with facing Catalans. It’s a great achievement to be in the Final but it would be a bigger achievement if we were to win it.”
