Support acts announced for Richard Ashcroft’s Robin Park show

Richard Ashcroft has confirmed support acts for his forthcoming summer outdoor homecoming show at Wigan’s Robin Park in July.

The Billinge-born 52-year-old is set to rock the Douglas Valley once again on Saturday 20 and Sunday 21 July, which will be the first time Richard Ashcroft will perform in Wigan since the famous Haigh Hall concert in front of 35,000 people just over 25 years ago.

Richard Ashcroft will be supported on Saturday 20 July by Liverpool’s indie rock bands Cast and Red Rum Club, as well as Wigan’s fast-rising singer-songwriter Maxwell Varey.

On Sunday 21 July the former The Verve frontman will be joined by multi-platinum selling band The Zutons, Welsh indie quartet The Royston Club and Wigan’s upcoming band Stanleys.
