Warriors Women partner with Fitness First

Wigan Warriors are pleased to announce a partnership with Fitness First who will support the fitness development of the Women’s Team for the 2024 & 2025 Seasons.

Fitness First has been a pillar of support for individuals on their fitness journey since 1993. What sets Fitness First apart is our dedicated and highly trained staff, ready to support and challenge members in achieving their goals, Fitness First is committed to supporting a healthier, more active lifestyle.

As part of the partnership, Wigan Warriors Women’s First Team players will have access to Fitness First facilities, to aid their development and allow them to undertake additional training outside of typical team sessions.

This also allows for a more specialised physiotherapy off-site, with Warriors staff also able to work with players on rehab and fitness in both the gym and pool environment.

Fitness First will also appear on the collarbone position of the Women’s First Team playing shirts for the 2024 and 2025 Seasons.

Wigan Warriors Strength & Conditioning Coach, Darren Marsh, commented: “Having the use of Fitness First is a fantastic addition to further increase the performance and recovery of the Women’s squad. Their facilities are first class and will play an essential part in our season, especially with regards to recovery.”

Wigan Warriors Women & Girls Rugby Operations Manager, Rachel Thompson, commented: “This support has been a great benefit for the girls with their training and recovery as we continue to develop and grow the Women’s game.

“Partnering with a well-known Nationwide brand like Fitness First allows us use of a great facility that offers so much to us and gives us the opportunity to undertake and try different types of training as well as improve our ongoing training schedule.”
