Warriors and Latics spread joy on Rainbow Ward
Wigan Warriors and Wigan Athletic players joined forces to spread Christmas joy on the Rainbow Ward at the Royal Albert Edward Infirmary.
Warriors players Liam Marshall, Ethan Havard and Sam Eseh were joined by Josh Magennis, Stephen Humphrys and Jordan Jones from Wigan Athletic as both clubs helped deliver festive excitement to the lives of more than 20 children on Monday evening.
The Warriors trio, who were warmly welcomed by patients, parents and staff on the children’s ward, delivered numerous gifts to children on the night, as well as spending valuable time taking part in various activities.
Speaking on the visit, Marshall said: “No child wants to be in hospital so close to Christmas so coming down and spending a couple hours delivering presents and putting a smile on their faces makes you feel warm inside.
“Doing this in conjunction with Wigan Athletic where the two teams come together is a bonus for the town and hopefully something we do more moving forward.”
