  • FT | Wigan Warriors 26-8 Salford Red Devils.

Junior Nsemba reflected after the Warriors’ 26-8 win over Salford Red Devils at the DW Stadium on Friday night.

“It was a good game,” he said, “a bit scrappy at times but we stuck to our processes and did the job we needed to do to come away with a win.”

Nsemba has recently got a consecutive run of first team games for the Warriors: “Moving from Reserves to playing more consistent first team games has boosted my confidence. I’m learning new things every day and every week.

“Hopefully I can get a few more games in this year and continue to learn.”

Summarising the game against Salford, he said: “I don’t think it was a comfortable win, Salford put up a fight and stuck at it which proved in a low scoring second half.

“They were throwing the ball about and making us move all over the pitch so it was a bit scrappy but we did the things we needed to tonight and as a team we’re happy.”

The victory saw Wigan go top of the Betfred Super League table with three games to go, as Nsemba said: “It’s great to be top of the league but we just need to focus on the remaining games, get some good performances in there and hopefully we’re still up there by the end of the season.”
