Matt Peet has provided an update on what the Warriors have been getting up to over the last week, which includes camping in the Lake District and training at Sale Sharks.
The Warriors took part in team bonding activities such as paddleboarding during a camping stay in the Lake District on Monday night, before completing a full training day at Sale Sharks’ Carrington facility on Wednesday.
Speaking on the change in environments, Peet said: “We thought it would be a good idea to do something different this week. We had Sale Sharks over as guests at Robin Park a few weeks ago, and in return they have given us the opportunity to complete a full training day at their brilliant facility.
“We got out on the field nice and early, the lads then put in some hard work in gym and conditioning, and we just signed off the day with a team meeting before the lads have a long weekend off.”
On finding the right balance between training and having time off during a week without a fixture, Peet added: “It’s been fresh and different, but it certainly hasn’t just been all feet up. We’ve put in some hard work this week in sessions, and have learnt some important messages as well. We set the bar high this year, so I thought it was important to get the balance right during this time off.”
Speaking on the value of team bonding sessions, Peet said: “Everything we do has an element of team bonding, togetherness and connection. It was nice to get away to freshen up in the short term, but also when the lads return to training on Monday, they will regain that fresh feeling.”
Looking ahead to the final six rounds of the Super League season, Peet said: “It’s getting towards the business end now where we will be looking to finish as high as we can, and finding our best form come the play-offs. The lads will enjoy the next four days off in a smart manner, before coming back ready to attack the business end of the season – there is a lot to be excited about.”
