Custy’s Column
Cade Cust provides another update, this time discussing the Warriors ‘One Club’ training night, the business end of the season and of course Australia retaining the Ashes.. Read below for the fourth instalment of ‘Custy’s Column’…
We had the One Club training session last week which was good to be part of again after the first one last year. To have players from all the different teams here offers a great social aspect – speaking to some of the players who also wear the Wigan badge. I enjoyed it a lot.
I was outside for five of my stations and it was raining as usual but I enjoyed the offside touch station. You can have a bit of fun with that one but it’s super competitive too – there were some great players in my team!
Away from the field I’ve been enjoying the Ashes series and seeing how the Aussies are getting on. It was good to retain the Ashes, myself and the lads have been enjoying keeping up with it as England v Australia and we’ve had the stumps out having our own mini Ashes when we get the chance.
I also might go and watch Liverpool one game when the Premier League gets back up and running. I don’t really have a team but I’ll jump on the bandwagon and go with Liverpool as I know some of the boys have started to get behind them.
We’re coming up to that business end of the season now and we sit second at the moment. We definitely want to try and close that gap with Catalans above us, so it’s about turning up for each other every week and keep ticking those two points off. Hopefully we can finish the season off strong, and can keep hearing you chanting away in the stands!
Speak soon,
Custy.
