  • Biville: “I will train hard this week. I only have one week to impress and make sure I can be selected in the squad.”
  • Biville, heritage number 70, will take shirt number 29.

Lauréane Biville previews Sunday’s Women’s Super League derby against St Helens at Robin Park Arena, after recently returning to England to play with the Warriors.

Biville debuted for Wigan against Leeds Rhinos at Headingley towards the end of the 2022 season, going on to score three tries in four appearances before returning home to France to prepare for the Rugby League World Cup.

Returning for the remainder of the 2023 season, she said: “We’ve just had a very hard season in France so it was natural for me to return to Wigan, ensure I can keep playing a good level of Rugby League and keep developing my game. I am looking forward to being back part of this team and finishing the 2023 season with them.”

Speaking on the Betfred Women’s Super League: “It’s always a different experience from game-to-game and that brings me a lot of new skills. I enjoy a challenge, so I look forward to the challenges ahead for the second half of the Women’s Super League season.”

On the chance to face St Helens for the first time: “I will train hard this week. I only have one week to impress and make sure I can be selected in the squad. It’s a huge game for Wigan and I know it will be a test but I’m really excited for the game.”

“The team this year look a lot more confident, there’s a lot of new players coming through and the team just has that freshness to it. Anything can happen as there’s a lot of new talent around the team.”

“I just finished University so I’m not sure what I will do for next season but it would be great to play a full season with Wigan and not just one or two months.”

Wigan Warriors Women face St Helens Women this Sunday 6th August at Robin Park Arena (12pm K.O.) Season Ticket Holders can gain free entry, with non-Season Ticket Holders costing £5 Adults and £3 Concessions.
