Wigan Warriors Wheelchair claimed a huge victory over Warrington Wolves at the latest Magic Weekend at Medway Sports Park in Kent on Sunday morning.

Wigan were hot off the mark as Declan Roberts went over almost immediately before Jack Heggie got the second, both converted by D.Roberts to put Wigan 12-0 up after just 5 minutes.

The Warriors had doubled their lead by the 10th minute as Mark Williams sent Matt Wooloff away down the right edge, before Jack Heggie added his second, D.Roberts making it four from four with the tee for 24-0.

Declan Roberts crashed over for his second of the morning after 15 minutes, converting his own effort before Adam Rigby collected a fantastic kick chase to get his name on the scoresheet, also converted by D.Roberts as Wigan made it 36-0 approaching the 20 minute mark.

A good period from Warrington followed but they couldn’t turn their persistence into points and it was Wigan who scored next on the half hour, this time Lenny Izzard getting the ball down and converting his own effort.

The Warriors finished the half strongly with Declan Roberts scoring either side of an effort from brother Nathan Roberts, whilst converting all three scores to see Wigan in at the break with a 60-0 advantage.

Jack Heggie scored two quickfire tries from the restart, the first a well worked effort before a full length score from kick off, both converted extended the Warriors’ lead to 72-0.

Mark Williams bagged his sole score of the fixture in the 45th minute, before Matt Wooloff rounded off his scoring for the day in the 49th minute as Declan Roberts made it 13 successful conversions from 13 for 84-0.

Declan Roberts scored his fifth try of the day in the 53rd minute, converting once more before Heggie also added a fifth to his tally as the ball sailed through the posts for 102-0.

From there, the Roberts baton was handed over to Nathan who scored two in three minutes to complete his hat-trick, as the first conversion miss of the day saw Wigan at 112-0.

Lenny Izzard made his tally a double as he chased a great kick through from Adam Rigby to ground the ball, but was unable to convert his own effort this time.

A quickfire brace from Adam Rigby followed for 126-0 before Wigan conceded their first points of the game in the 75th minute in the form of a penalty goal which was sweetly struck for 126-2.

Rigby was not done there though, and he rounded off the proceedings with a further two scores to make his tally for the day five, both were converted from the tee as Wigan completed a resounding 138-2 win to add two points to their season campaign.
