Tyler Dupree says he was ‘really happy’ to contribute on his Club debut as Wigan ran out 44-18 winners against Leigh Leopards on Saturday afternoon.

On his try scoring debut, Dupree said: “I was really happy. I was happy to get over but the win was just as important and I was just happy to contribute to the scoreline.

“As the game finished I thought ‘I’ve never actually won here’ even in the Academy and stuff. I’m buzzing to have made my debut for this Club and I hope it continues.”

Talking on the fans, he said: “You can just tell they’re all Rugby mad, the Club itself is a good community place where everyone is involved in everything and it’s a really good place to be.”

The Warriors and Leopards were locked at 6-6 until just before half time as Wigan broke away into a lead. Speaking on the half time chat, Dupree added: “It was a case of we’re doing good but it can be better, there was some chat about being ruthless and I feel like we showed that. Obviously there’s still stuff to fix up but I think we’re in a good place now.”

Finally, Dupree looked ahead to a full week of training ahead of Hull KR next Friday night: “I look forward to every game and hopefully I’m included again but I’m just looking forward to having a full week with the lads and getting to know the players a little bit better.”
