- Wigan Warriors Women v Leeds Rhinos Women, Robin Park Arena, Sunday 9th July, 12pm K.O.
Wigan Warriors Women’s Eva Hunter wants to ‘keep learning and getting stronger’ as she relishes a regular starting spot for the first team in 2023.
Speaking on 2023 so far, Hunter said: “I’ve really enjoyed the season so far, especially playing with the older and more experienced girls who I really look up to, but also playing with and against England internationals – it’s brilliant!”
Reflecting on last week’s result to York, she said: “I don’t think the score from the game really reflected our performance, overall I think we still did well and we all carried on working for each other to the end, nobody gave up.”
On facing Leeds Rhinos this weekend, she added: “I’ve only played against Leeds Academy so I’m not sure exactly what to expect but I can imagine it will definitely be a physical game.
“I think a good home crowd will really encourage everyone after our last home performance against Huddersfield in the Challenge Cup Quarter Final.”
Looking ahead to the rest of the season, Hunter said: “Going into the second half of the season I just want to keep learning and getting stronger. Hopefully as a team we can make it to the Challenge Cup Final at Wembley, that’s a big aim for us this year.”
The Warriors host Leeds Rhinos at Robin Park Arena this Sunday afternoon (12pm K.O.) Entry is free for Season Ticket Holders or £5 Adults and £3 Concessions. Our on-site bar will also be open for refreshments (Card Only).
