Warriors Corporate Away Day

Wigan Warriors ran a successful corporate away day for last Sunday’s trip to Salford Red Devils, with plenty to enjoy with the 26-6 victory.

On Sunday 25 June 2023, the past players association along with Wigan Warriors Corporate team engaged with our former players with an invite to attend the Salford Red Devils away game at the Salford stadium. Several Club partners and player sponsors joined the group to experience the day.

Before the game, guests were treated to a breakfast at Revolution Bar in Wigan as well as returning there for some celebratory drinks following the win at Salford.

Several former players attended on the day and thoroughly enjoyed the trip and the hospitality provided by Wigan and Salford rugby clubs as well as rekindling old friendships.

The event invites were extended to Club Partners, Player Sponsors plus wives, girlfriends, and family of former players and again this proved to be a huge success.

In 2022 the club’s 150th year anniversary the past players association engaged with many former players culminating in the Heritage game v Warrington at the DW Stadium.

The aim of the Past Players Association is not to count how many medals, trophies, and caps have been won as players but to re-establish old friendships with those colleagues you have not seen for many years and rebuild that comradeship.

Chairman of the Past Players Association, Keith Sutch, said: “The Club, alongside the Past Players Association continue to ensure former players donning the famous Cherry and White jersey are remembered for their achievements on the Rugby field. Irrespective of whether they made one appearance or 300 they have one thing in common, ‘They All Played for Wigan’.”
