Harry Smith praised the Warriors defence as they claimed a 22-6 win over Huddersfield Giants at the DW Stadium on Friday night.
Speaking on the encounter, Smith said: “It was a good game, they came to play after a tough defeat
for them. I thought we started the game really physically and managed to get on top and score some points.”
The home side defended valiantly to not concede until the last five minutes of the game, to which
Smith added: “The defence was on top which got us the points in the end, so it was a good
performance all round.”
On the night, Smith made 17 in-play kicks as well successfully converting three tries: “It’s nice to be able to kick a few goals from the touchline, take a bit of pressure of the team and extend that lead so I was happy with that.
“I’m just doing my job for the team and if we can keep winning that’s all that matters.”
Matt Peet’s side head to Wakefield Trinity next in Round 18 of the Betfred Super League season.
The hosts will come off the back of an impressive 32-6 victory against Salford Red Devils, as Smith
looked ahead to the matchup: “It will be tough going there, they can make a bit of a fortress out of
that ground and they’re trying to get a bit of form, so we know we’ll have to be at our best if we
want to get a result.”
Head on the road with the Warriors as we travel to the Be Well Support Stadium to take on Wakefield Trinity this Friday 7th July. Tickets and travel can be purchased HERE.
