Wigan Warriors celebrate their Blue Light Night fixture against Huddersfield Giants at the DW Stadium on Friday night, with the club offering discounted tickets for Blue Card holders as an act of appreciation.
Wigan Warriors Centre Toby King praised the initiative: “Blue Light Night’s a brilliant scheme. All the nurses and key workers are a credit to this country, especially through the pressure of the pandemic – they were brilliant for us.
“My girlfriend works in the NHS but unfortunately she can’t make it on Friday as she’s on a night shift, but it’s brilliant that Wigan are inviting them down and hopefully we see you all there on Friday night.”
Reflecting on the Warriors’ 26-6 victory at Salford Red Devils last time out, King said: “It was a really good win and to only concede six points against one of the best attacking sides in the competition was the most pleasing part.”
Speaking on the unpredictability of the Super League campaign so far, King said: “That’s been the story of Super League this year. It’s been quite an exciting competition where everyone seems to be beating everyone. We want to find some consistency and build confidence so that we can start climbing the ladder.”
The Warriors return to Super League action at the DW Stadium for the first time since mid-May on Friday night, and King is excited to play in front of the home support: “The DW’s one of the best stadiums in the league and being at home with the fans behind your back is class.
“We do some really special things here, our home record’s good and the fans play a big part in making it a tough place to come. As soon as you run out there and see the fans it’s a great feeling and hopefully we can pack it out on Friday night.”
Tickets for Friday night’s clash can either be purchased online HERE or from the DW Stadium ticket office which is open Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm. Please note that discounted Blue Light tickets can only be obtained in person from the DW Stadium Ticket Office, and only with the production of a valid card.
