Wigan Warriors half-back Logan Astley has joined Championship side Featherstone Rovers on an initial one-month loan.

The 20-year-old, who made his Super League debut against Huddersfield Giants in May 2022, has recently recovered from a hamstring injury. Astley has made a number of appearances for the Reserves this season having been pivotal in 2022 as they lifted the Reserves Grand Final trophy.

He has also featured this year for Oldham Roughyeds on dual registration, where he scored a brace against Rochdale on Good Friday.

On the loan move, transition coach John Duffy said: “This is another fantastic opportunity for Logan at a side who are riding high in the Championship.

“I know he’ll enjoy working under Sean Long and we look forward to seeing how he performs.”

Astley will be available for selection for Rovers’ next fixture in the Betfred Championship away at Whitehaven, this Sunday.

Featherstone Head Coach Sean Long said: “I’ve had my eye on Logan for quite some time, I’ve been to watch him at training with Wigan and have seen him play for the reserves where he ran the show.

“With Johno Ford out injured, we’re a little light in the spine and I think this is a great opportunity for us and for Logan to see what he can do.”

Logan Astley is sponsored by The Riversiders Supporters’ Club.
