Vote for your ultimate Community Hero

Wigan Warriors Community Foundation delivered their latest Community coach education morning at Robin Park Arena alongside the Loch Lomond Community hero awards.

The interactive session was attended by 150 Community Club coaches who had the opportunity to access some invaluable advice from Matt Peet and England Head Coach, Shaun Wane.

The main topic of the morning was focusing on the importance of developing core skill with junior players. This was complemented by some footage shown to the audience and discussed by all coaches.

Following the advice from Matt Peet and Shaun Wane, all coaches were then welcomed to observe a core skill development session delivered by Tommy Leuluai and Sean O’Loughlin.

The whole morning was deemed a huge success with coaches attending from local Community clubs, as well as the Yorkshire and Cumbria region. Included in the morning was an opportunity for all local Community club heroes to be presented with a bottle of Loch Lomond Whisky by Matt (Peet) and Shaun (Wane) on stage in recognition of their efforts within the Community game.

Speaking on the event, Assistant Head of Community, Danny Fullerton said: “These events are becoming extremely popular with Community coaches attending from different regions. The more we can facilitate Community coaches coming together and sharing good practise is only positive thing that helps the development of future players and coaches.

“It was also great to see all the Community heroes on stage in recognition of their efforts within their Communities.”
