Wigan Warriors are delighted to announce a festival of Wheelchair Rugby League as Wigan Warriors’ two teams face off with Leeds Rhinos in a special double-header.

It will be an extravaganza of Wheelchair Rugby League, currently one of the fastest growing sports in the UK, when the event takes place at Robin Park Leisure Centre on Saturday 27th May.

The Battle of the Roses will continue, following on from the recent Super League game and upcoming Challenge Cup encounter with the Rhinos, with a third weekend of Wigan v Leeds action.

The day will get underway at 12.45pm with Wigan’s Championship wheelchair team taking on Leeds Rhinos development wheelchair side. Then, at 3.00pm, Wigan’s Betfred Super League wheelchair team, will take on their Leeds Rhinos counterparts.

If you saw Wheelchair Rugby League  on the TV at the Rugby League World Cup, come and see it up close. You won’t be disappointed.

Community Outreach Manager Mike Stoneley said: “This will be a really exciting event to showcase Wheelchair Rugby League after the success of the World Cup in 2022.

“We want to provide supporters with the opportunity to experience watching Wheelchair Rugby in person and feel the full force of collisions while witnessing a high level of skill on display.”

Tickets for the day are available now by clicking HERE priced at £5 for adults and £3 for juniors (plus booking fee). Keep your eyes peeled on our social media pages for the opportunity for children to be part of a guard of honour experience at the event.
