Local Community Club ambassador Hindley RLFC juniors recently enjoyed a Warriors gameday experience with partners Davanti Tyres at Wigan’s game against Wakefield Trinity.

The experience started off with an exclusive training session with all Community Foundation coaches and non-playing squad members at our Robin Park Arena fan village before the Wigan Warriors v Wakefield Trinity fixture on Sunday 23rd April.

Following on from the fun training session, the juniors made their way over to the DW Stadium and having purchased the flag waving experiences, enjoyed being on the field as the players entered the pitch. Hindley were looking smart in their Davanti branded kits.

During half time Hindley were also represented by two boys (John Burgess and Ryley Armstrong) and two girls (Jasmine Burgess and Hollie Payne) for the ever popular half time Davanti dash race.

Speaking about the day, Claire Burgess, Junior and Girls co-ordinator at Hindley said: “Hindley ARLFC would like to thank both Wigan Warriors and Davanti Tyres for creating such a well organised and enjoyable day for our junior teams.

“Over 100 of our players in Davanti Tyres sponsored shirts participated in the pre-match training session and match day experiences. Our players got the opportunity to have photos with the Wigan Warriors players pre-match and pick up a souvenir from the day with a Wigan Warriors /Davanti rugby ball.”

She added: “The day was finished off back at our Hindley ARLFC headquarters where we had a “Davanti after party” to celebrate with all our players and parents. Hindley ARLFC are an inclusive club who actively encourage children of any age and ability to try the sport of Rugby League and it was a privilege to be involved in this event.  The memories it created for our players on the day will no doubt last a lifetime.”

Assistant Head of Community, Danny Fullerton added: “Hindley are a very forward-thinking club who are creating a strong Community feel within their Club. Now with the well-established girl’s teams playing, it’s great to see this club thriving at all ages. To showcase the junior section with a Warriors experience on the DW Stadium pitch is a remarkable achievement for everyone involved at Hindley.”
