Clint Boon to DJ at Leeds game

  • Manchester’s Clint Boon to perform before the Wigan v Leeds Betfred Super League game.

Wigan Warriors are delighted to announce that Clint Boon will play a 50-minute DJ set before Wigan Warriors take on Leeds Rhinos in the Betfred Super League clash at the DW Stadium on Friday 12th May.

The legendary Manchester keyboard player, songwriter and DJ will be playing some of his favourites tunes from 7:00pm to get fans in the mood for what promises to be a sensational game at 8:00pm.

Clint Boon, is the Inspiral Carpets’ keyboard player/vocalist/songwriter who, since 2004 has become a permanent fixture on the airwaves of Manchester. He has worked as a radio presenter for several Manchester based radio stations, 96.2 The Revolution, XFM Manchester, Radio X, BBC Radio Manchester and XS Manchester.

Believe it or not, 2023 marks Clint’s 48th year as a DJ having started DJing in 1975 at the age of 15.  For the last 25 years, Clint has carved out a successful career as one of the UK’s most sought after club DJs. His weekly Saturday night at Manchester’s South Nightclub is now in it’s nineteenth year, the longest running weekly club night residency in the city. He also DJs around the UK and internationally.

Ahead of the game, Clint Boon said: “I’m really looking forward to playing at the DW Stadium on Friday night. I’ll be on stage from 7.:0pm playing a set of bangers before the Wigan Warriors v Leeds Rhinos game. See you down at the front!”

Wigan’s Head of Marketing and Media, Stewart Frodsham said: “We’re always looking at different ways to improve the matchday experience for supporters both in our fan village at Robin Park Arena and also once supporters begin to take their seats in the DW Stadium.

“Finding different acts to entertain the crowd is just one way that we add to the matchday atmosphere. Attendances have been strong so far in 2023 and whilst we appreciate that having great entertainment on the field for 80 minutes is the main event, we’ll continue to look for ways to extend the enjoyment around the game.”
