Heritage Society: April update

The Wigan Rugby Heritage Society is proud to announce that we will be sponsoring the Wigan Warriors Women’s Team Fullback Beri Salihi for the 2023 season. We were recently invited to attend the launch of the Women’s Season at Robin Park Arena and present Beri with the playing shirt for the season. 

Beri has been awarded the Number One jersey this year. The Women’s Game has grown in stature since the RLWC2021 and having made a try scoring debut against Warrington, Beri continued the scoring with another Try in the Challenge Cup game in South Wales against Cardiff Demons. Beri has also taken on the role of goal kicker for the Women’s side, with a great conversion rate so far.

We are sure that our members will be proud to support our new fullback and future star of the Women’s game and we look forward to going on this journey with Beri, her family and the Club.

We also had a ‘Player of the Year’ poll for members at the end of the season and have awarded Declan Roberts (Wheelchair) and Vicky Molyneux (Women’s) their awards following games recently. The Men’s first team winner was Jai Field.
