Miski: We’re excited

Abbas Miski is relishing an ‘exciting’ game at the DW Stadium this coming Sunday as the Warriors aim for a sixth victory on the bounce before the international break.
Looking back at Friday’s 13-6 victory over Warrington, Miski said: “It was good, it was a big game for us and we knew it was a big game. They were undefeated and they’re a good team so to get the win was really exciting, I tried to put in a lot of hard work and it was a wet game so I knew I’d have to pull my sleeves up and help the team out with my carries so it was a good performance all over.”
The Lebanese winger also reflected on a positive period for the team following three big wins: “We were speaking about it earlier and we knew they were going to be three hard games, three really good teams and to win them all and not just win, but play well to our standards with a lot of injuries in the team – we’re really happy with that.
“Leigh obviously being really hungry as a newly promoted side in the Super League, we knew that was the start. Obviously St Helens on Good Friday which was massive and all three teams offered something different but they were definitely more than capable. They were three very intense games.”
Wakefield’s last visit to the DW Stadium in February ended in a heavy loss, but Miski says the team are not underestimating their opponents: “We’re excited, it’s the last game before a break but we’re definitely not taking it lightly. We’ve spoken about it this week and we’re looking to put in a good performance on Sunday.
“I think there’s a big emphasis this week on training the same as we would any other week, we’ll put our best foot forward and treat them with the respect that they deserve.”
