Biggest home attendance in 18-years

Wigan Warriors are delighted to reveal that Friday’s game against St Helens at the DW Stadium drew the highest home attendance for 18-years.

The game is the most well attended home match since Good Friday of 2005 which drew a crowd of 25,004.

Wigan Warriors would like to thank supporters for their attendance and playing their part in what was a fantastic occasion, also viewed in big numbers around the world Live on Sky Sports.

Chief Executive Kris Radlisnki said: “This is a fantastic achievement from everyone who has worked so hard at this club in creating a welcoming atmosphere for supporters before, during and after the match. Thanks to all Wigan fans. We will be trying our best to put on a wonderful show for you.

“I would like to also thank the fans from St.Helens for making the short journey over to Wigan. I think we all know just how much the fixture means to both Clubs and we need to remember that without each other, we can’t put on such fantastic occasions. As lovers of Super League, this is what we have always wanted.  The sellouts from around the game are really encouraging and need to be celebrated. It feels like a really good time for the sport. Let’s all shout it from the rooftops!”
