Matt Peet confirmed that Jai Field will be side-lined for 8-10 weeks after leaving the field early against Leigh Leopards in Round 7.

Speaking on his squad availability, Peet said: “We’ve got options. You always wish that everyone was available for selection for every game but I think you know through pre-season, when you practice and the way you put your squad together, the full 25 will be tested.

“No one individual will separate this game. This will be about moments of team commitment, and when both teams are presented with opportunities, who can take them.”

On the injuries, he added: “Jai Field is looking at about 8-10 weeks. Cade Cust will depend on a few checks, but neither of them will need operations. Cade we will have to check in every week to see how he’s feeling. It’s a challenge for us certainly but one we look forward to.

“Particularly with Jai Field and although 8-10 sounds like a kick for us, immediately after it he thought it was the same as last time, so the fact he doesn’t need an operation is a bonus. Liam Marshall hasn’t trained yet so we’ll see how he gets on this week.”
