Angie Brown to perform at The Derby
- Angie Brown to appear at the Good Friday clash with St Helens.
- She will perform the dance classics “Playin’ with Knives,” “Gonna Get You,” and “Rockin’ 4 Myself”.
- There will be a Fan Village and Stadium performance.
Wigan Warriors are delighted to announce that legendary vocalist Angie Brown will appear before this Friday’s Good Friday Clash with St Helens at the DW Stadium.
Angie will make an appearance in the Fan Village before taking to the pitch at the DW Stadium ahead of kick off.
Angie Brown, whose performances have thrilled audiences all over the world, is a British singer and songwriter from Brixton, South London.
Her voice has been compared to the all-time greats, such as Tina Turner and Aretha Franklin and most well known as the featured vocalist on Bizarre Inc’s two hits “I’m Gonna Get You” (1992) and “Playin with Knives (1991). She was also the featured vocalist on Motiv8’s top twenty UK track from 1994, “Rockin’ for Myself”.
Brown has also performed backing vocals for Grace Jones, Beverley Knight, Mark Morrison, The Rolling Stones, The Dirty Strangers, Kate Bush, Chaka Khan, Heaven 17, Neneh Cherry, Lisa Stansfield, Mola Mola, The Stereophonics, Sybil and Fat Boy Slim.
Wigan host St Helens in Round 8 of the Super League at the DW on Friday 7th April as they welcome their close rivals on Good Friday for the first time since 2019.
