Community Foundation launch RugBees sessions

Following The Rugby Football League’s launch of an exciting new project to encourage more primary school aged girls to take up the sport, Wigan Warriors Community Foundation are pleased to announce their upcoming sessions to back the drive.

Led by Community Coaches Anna Davies and Kaitlin Hilton, who both represent Wigan Warriors Women and England Knights, the sessions will run in Blocks of Four across five weeks and be hosted at Wigan Warriors Robin Park Arena.

Blocks will run in two age ranges, either Ages 7 & 8 or Ages 9 to 11. Sessions will take place on Wednesday evenings 5pm-6pm at the cost of £25 per block (£5 per session).

Session One start Date: 19th April 2023

Session Five end Date: 17th May 2023

Block 2

Session One start Date: 24th May 2023

Session Five end Date: 21st June 2023

Block 3

Session One start Date: 28th June 2023

Session Five end Date: 26th July 2023

Block 4

Session One start Date: 2nd August 2023

Session Five end Date: 30th August June 2023

Girls Rugby League Development Manager, John Whalley, said: “This is another fantastic opportunity for young girls of primary school age to play and experience Rugby League. Wigan Warriors Community Foundation are pleased to be able to support the new initiative by The RFL to continue our development of girls Rugby League in Wigan.”
