April Alcedo Futures dates announced

Wigan Warriors Community Foundation are delighted to announce the dates for our second Alcedo Futures Day Sessions during April Half term.

The sessions take place during each school holiday and provide an opportunity for junior players to work on their technical, tactical and physical skills.

The programme is sponsored by Alcedo Care, allowing players not on a Scholarship programme a route into a performance pathway. The programme has already benefitted current Wigan first team players, including Ethan Havard who was on the programme as a 15-year-old and is now a consistent starter in the first team and made his England Knights debut in 2022.

  • 1:00pm – 3:00pm Year 8 (U13) Boys

Friday 14th Apr

Community Coach, Tom Marsh, said: “The last Alcedo futures days in February were a real success. Seeing all the players in the tops provided by Alcedo was a great addition to the programme. The skill levels on show throughout the sessions was of real high quality and it shows what a great job all the community club coaches do behind the scenes.

“We also had volunteer coaches come down who have been involved in the coach CPD pathway working alongside our performance department and seeing the progression they have made was great. We are looking forward to the Easter sessions, seeing even more progression form participants, and helping them improve the game at community club level.”
