Speaking on the partnership, Managing Director Jason Huyton said: “As a company with a rich tradition within the borough, we have tried to support progressive audience engaging sports, and none more so than Women’s football as we have seen from the Lionesses success it can be inspiring to so many people.

“When the opportunity came up to sponsor the Warriors Wheelchair team, I was really excited to be able to associate Palatine Paints to what truly is an inspiring team sport. After witnessing the Wheelchair Rugby League World Cup I was overawed by the physicality, dedication and team spirit of all the players that took part and like the Lionesses and Warriors will inspire generations of individuals.”

He added: “I would personally like to thank Aaron Adams, the construction director at BCEGI for his involvement in this sponsorship, which was strengthened by the great work being undertaken by BCEGI at the Galleries in Wigan and can I wish the Warriors Wheelchair team all the success their hard work and dedication deserve.”

Sales Director and Community Foundation trustee, Geoff Warburton added: “We are really grateful to the support being shown by Jason and Palatine Paints. As we all saw from the first year of the Betfred Wheelchair Super League, this is certainly a growing sport that caught the imagination of the public in the recent Wheelchair Rugby League World Cup and will only continue to grow this year.

“When Aaron introduced us to Jason, it didn’t take long for them to agree this kind support through the Wigan Warriors Community Foundation and we look forward to carrying their brand this season.”
