James McDonnell was on the scoresheet once again as Leigh Centurions continued their winning run in the Championship, with Umyla Hanley also in action at Newcastle.

Leigh Centurions won 52-20 against Barrow Raiders on Sunday afternoon with Wigan loanee James McDonnell scoring on the hour mark as he collected the ball and ran into space to dive over to make it 44-8 to Leigh, helping them on their way to another win in the Championship competition.

Over in Newcastle, Umyla Hanley started on the left wing for Newcastle Thunder, though it was a day to forget at Kingston Park as Newcastle fell to a 44-0 defeat against London Broncos.
