A first home BWSL win of the season for the Warriors Women saw double success for the team’s newest household as centre pairing Anna Mary Davies and Lauréane Biville both crossed for tries.

After signing last month in preparation to represent France in the upcoming Rugby League World Cup, Lauréane Biville has been living with Anna Davies who has been her guide to Wigan, the local area and the Club itself.

Anna commented on hew new housemate Lauréane: “She’s absolutely fantastic and it’s nice for many reasons to have someone at home who’s also playing rugby. It’s good for my personal development to be learning so much from her experience, especially now i’m playing at Centre as we complete each other. She’s been giving me lots of good tips and its great to have someone to go to the gym with every day.”

Lauréane replied: “She’s been really nice to me and has helped me a lot since I’ve arrived at Wigan and as she said, ‘we complete each other’ so well as we play the same position and enjoy going to the gym together.”

Biville opened the scoring for the Warriors in less than a minute as she set Wigan on their way. On scoring her first try for the club, she said: “I’m delighted to get my first try today as its an accomplishment for me to be able to show the girls I’m here for them by playing to my best whilst on the field for this team and representing the Club colours. I am really happy and so proud of what we’ve done today.”

Discussing the upcoming World Cup, added: “It’s really good to play for Wigan as I can improve my skills and stay in shape with the girls as we have training in the gym and on the field. This means I can learn new things, this will give me a great boost going into the World Cup.”
