Speaking on the new concept, Shane Eccles Junior Player Development Manager said: “We are looking forward to the chance to have more players involved in our youth performance pathway this summer. We have revamped our ETP performance programmes to provide more of an insight to players into what it is like to be involved in our scholarship and academy system. This gives players an opportunity through summer to experience being a Wigan Warriors youth performance player and whilst doing so will develop their skills in a variety of elements.”

He added: “All players who attend the Performance Carnival sessions will be involved in Rugby Skill development through both Practice and Small sided competitive games. Players will also have the opportunity to work with our Youth Performance Strength and conditioning staff where they will work on a variety of fundamental movement skills that are required to be a rugby league player. These sessions will mirror our scholarship programme to give players an insight into what players in our youth performance system go through on a weekly basis. Our aim is to help develop and improve players rugby skill and movement skill”
