Ahead of Wigan’s Magic Weekend clash against St Helens on Saturday, we look at the key facts and stats about the Warriors at the annual Super League event.

General facts 

• The Magic Weekend started in 2007, featuring all 12 Super League clubs across two days at one venue and this will be the 15th annual weekend (excluding 2020.)
• The Rugby League festival has typically been played on the May Bank Holiday weekend, apart from in 2011 when the Magic Weekend was the opening round of the Super League season (Wigan drew 16-16 against St Helens at the Millennium Stadium). In a change to the schedule this year’s weekend takes place on the 9th/10th July.
• This will be the 6th time we meet local rivals St Helens at the Magic Weekend event.

Did you know?

• Referee Ben Thaler has been in charge of 4 Wigan Magic games (2010, 2012, 2014, 2017).
• In 2016 when Wigan beat Leeds 40-8 at St James’ Park, referee Robert Hicks had to be replaced by Joe Cobb in the 18^th minute after suffering an injury.
