Coach quotes

Speaking to wiganwarriors.com, Women’s boss Kris Ratcliffe gave his thoughts on this weekends game: “We know we face as tough of a task as we can get. York are a big side and the form team in Super League. There’s no easy games in Super League and we’ve had to do it tough for a while now on the injury front so we are used to adversity.

“We know that we can ask questions of York, we had opportunities at their place and had we took some of them in the first half it would’ve been a much closer contest. The girls need to take those opportunities this week and be committed and brave in defence.”

He added: “They know that to come away with wins in this division they need to battle, concentrate and play smart for the full 80 minutes. We are still a few weeks away from having the majority of players back from injury but that’s nothing new for us and the girls need to just concentrate on the controllables and that’s about what they do on the field when they pull on the Cherry and white shirt.”
