Campaign so far

The Warriors have only played one Round of their Betfred Women’s Super League campaign so far as they lost out to St Helens two weeks’ ago. Huddersfield have played two of their games so far, seeing both ending in defeat against York City Knights and Leeds Rhinos.

Injury news

The Warriors remain without Rachel Thompson, Alison Burrows, Cailey Miller, Ruth Thomas, Hannah Walton through long-term injury. Ellie Costello who was injured at Saints won’t be ready for this weekend but the injury isn’t as bad as first feared and she will hopefully be in contention for our next game.

Coach quotes

Speaking to wiganwarriors.com, Kris Ratcliffe said: “Following on from the Saints game we just had a couple of weeks to focus on core skill and individual improvements, rather than the usual team prep that goes with back-to-back games.

“It also allowed the time for some quality video analysis with each player getting individual clips of all of their involvements in the last game. It is a very time consuming process but hugely worthwhile and the extra time has due to no games has afforded us that luxury.”

He added: “Huddersfield have improved beyond recognition since last year. They had a tremendous run at the end of last season and been highly competitive in every game so far this season so we are expecting a real tough test.”
