Squad news

Kris Ratcliffe has named his 19-player squad ahead of the fixture on Sunday:

Coach quotes

Speaking to wiganwarriors.com, Women’s boss Kris Ratcliffe gave his thoughts on this weekends game: “Going into the last game we knew it was going to be a huge task. Losing Victoria Molyneux in the previous game hugely depleted our experience out on the pitch with three of our Internationals and leadership team sidelined. We competed well in spells but need to do that consistently for 80 minutes

“It’s an unknown challenge this week. Dewsbury have stepped in last minute to replace Widnes and full credit to them for taking the challenge. Coming to play Wigan will be their cup final and they’ll be full of enthusiasm and zero pressure. I’ve told the girls to expect Dewsbury to put in their best performance.”

He added: “We need to set the pace and intensity of the game to showcase what we can do. Learn the lessons from what York did to us in spells and turn pain from that defeat in Dewsbury’s direction. For a few of the girls it’s their first home game plus a debut for another Union recruit in Sinead Doria so I’m confident we will be stronger than last week, we’re looking forward to it!”
