Wigan partner with Blindspot Global

Wigan Warriors are delighted to announce a partnership with Blindspot Global who will become the Club’s Official Covid-19 Testing Partner for the 2022 season.

As part of the agreement, Blindspot Global will provide twice weekly testing for the first team players and support staff to facilitate the safe continuation of training and matches.

Blindspot Global will benefit from having its logo on the front left leg of the team’s playing shorts across the first team, Reserves, Academy Under-18s and Women’s squads.

The Blindspot Global logo featured on the shorts for the first time in Sunday’s pre-season friendly win against Newcastle Thunder.

Wigan Warriors Sales Director, Geoff Warburton, said: “Over the past 22 months, we have had to adapt to the enormous challenges presented by Covid-19 and whilst there appears to be some light at the end of the tunnel, the threat remains real. We have to do everything we can to protect our players and staff to try to fulfil every fixture, as we did last season.

“As such, we have spoken to several companies with regards to the continuing provision of twice weekly testing which is viewed as the gold standard in all elite sport.

“We were impressed by the willingness and professionalism of Blindspot Global and their team, given their existing relationships within sport.

“This twice weekly testing will be critical for the early detection of any positive results, allowing us to safely continue training and matches with the rest of the squad and staff in what will be a busy season.”
