Adult Education Courses
Kick-start your career in fitness with Wigan Warriors Education. We are pleased to annouce our latest Adult Education course offerings.
We have both the Level 2 Certificate in Fitness Instructing (Gym Based Exercise) and the Level 2 Certificate in Coaching Strength and Conditioning for Sport.
We will enrol in December with the course start date being Tuesday 4th January. Both courses are blended learning so theory will be completed online via the Competence app with Zoom teaching sessions, then there will be 5 face to face workshops at Robin Park Arena on the following dates:
- Saturday 15th January
- Saturday 29th January
- Saturday 12th February
- Saturday 26th February
- Saturday 12th March
Funding is available for anyone with a Greater Manchester or Preston postcode.
Level 2 Certificate in Fitness Instructing (Gym Based Exercise)
Become a qualified Fitness Instructor. The aim of this qualification is to train learners to a professionally competent level, enabling them to prescribe, plan and deliver safe and effective exercise sessions within a gym or health club environment.
Level 2 Certificate in Strength & Conditioning for Sport
The Level 2 Certificate in Coaching Strength and Conditioning focuses on the skills and competencies required to be able to plan, deliver and evaluate a series of linked and progressive strength and conditioning coaching sessions, preparing the learner for potential employment as a strength and conditioning coach.
What do the qualifications cover?
Complete your training in a high-performance training facility alongside your fellow trainee instructors. Engage in a mix of practical and theory-based sessions. Complete a digital course portfolio. Plan for and deliver a series of practical gym-based sessions. A blended course with theory sessions complete online and practical gym-based sessions at Robin Park Arena.

Funding Eligibility:
- Must be 19+ years old
- Must not already be on a Government funded course
- Must already have a minimum Level 2 in any subject/qualification
- Live in the Greater Manchester area
