Wigan Warriors Community Foundation are to host a number of Rugby Memories Christmas parties throughout December.

After receiving funding from Age UK, with help from ambition for ageing and the Lottery Community fund, Wigan Warriors Community Foundation are pleased to welcome people back for Rugby Memories themed Christmas Parties. All the dates are below:

Friday 3rd December, 1-3pm @ Robin Park Arena

Friday 10th December, 1-3pm @ Robin Park Arena

Tuesday 14th December,2-4pm @ St Cuthbert’s Rugby Club

Friday 17th December, 1-3pm @ Shevington Community & Recreation Centre

The sessions will be Christmas parties with a Rugby Memories theme, which we hope will appeal to a wide audience and remove some of the barriers some people may have around attending a new group. All of the dates are free to attend and we hope that hosting the sessions in a variety of locations will open the group up to new members.

George Burgess was on hand to help spread Christmas cheer in 2019.

Rugby Memories sessions have been running for over 4 years and have created a strong support network for some of the most vulnerable members of our community. We meet every Tuesday 2-4pm at St. Cuthbert’s Rugby Club and always welcome new members; join us for games, crafts, light exercise, or just to chat and make new friends. Sessions are free to attend and refreshments are provided.

Ambition for Ageing is part of Ageing Better, a programme set up by The National Lottery Community Fund, the largest funder of community activity in the UK. Ageing Better aims to develop creative ways for people aged over 50 to be actively involved in their local communities, helping to combat social isolation and loneliness. It is one of five major programmes set up by The National Lottery Community Fund to test and learn from new approaches to designing services which aim to make people’s lives healthier and happier.
