Isa signs new deal

Wigan Warriors are delighted to announce that Willie Isa has signed a new two-year extension to see him stay at the Club until the end of 2023.

Joining from Widnes Vikings in 2016, Isa, 32, has made 168 appearances for the Warriors – delivering consistent performances and becoming a firm regular in the starting 13 in recent seasons.

Playing 20 games in 2021, Isa captained Wigan for the first time in his career as he led the Warriors to victory in their final round victory over Catalans Dragons in September.

There have been other memorable moments for Isa during his time at the Club, including playing at historic sporting stadia such as Barcelona’s Camp Nou. A big Liverpool FC fan, Isa scored at The Kop End at Anfield in the 2019 Magic Weekend game against Warrington.

The second rower has two Super League rings and League Leaders’ Shield medal to his winning collection so far and he hopes to add more to that in 2022 and beyond.

On penning a new deal, Isa said: “I’m absolutely delighted to have a signed a new contract with this great Club. There are exciting times ahead under the new coaching management for the Club. I’m really looking forward to the season ahead.”

Head Coach, Matt Peet, said: “Willie Isa is an outstanding professional, he takes every opportunity to improve himself and the team. We are looking to build a culture and leaders like him play an important part.”
