Wigan Women’s Paige Costello and Stacey Greenwood started for Ireland in Colwyn Bay, with Aimee Wood an unused reserve. Carys Marsh also started, to make her second Wales appearance.

Greenwood captained the side to a historic victory, claiming the win in their inaugural International match having only set up in 2021. Greenwood got her first international try for Ireland at the start of the second half, scoring off a quick tap after getting herself a penalty after being caught high.

Marsh was persistent at stand off as Wales staged a late comeback with four second half tries but it was Ireland who took the win on the Welsh coast.
