Jake Bibby described 2021 as a positive season for him as a player as he reflects on the year.

Having played every minute for the Warriors in 2021 across 28 games in all competitions, Bibby has crossed for 14 tries in one of his most successful seasons to date.

“This whole year for me as a player has been a positive,” he said, “I didn’t expect to be playing every game never mind every minute but I’m quite a durable player. It’s been a good season for me, I’ve got over for plenty of tries but I just do my job on the wing and try and finish off for the lads but it’s one to remember and one to build off.”

Bibby crossing over for a try against Wakefield in April.

In 2021, the Warriors had seen a lot of movement in their starting line-ups throughout the season, but Bibby reflected on the changes as a chance for him to become a more versatile player: “Wherever I play, I’m happy to put my hand up and fill that role, all I want to do is play rugby and try and improve as a player.”

He added: “The more places I can play it’s only going to improve me as a player but I feel like next year I need to narrow it down having had that time to be a bit versatile and try different positions out. I will fill in if needs be.

“I’ll take the tries but I think the aim already for 2022 is to get back to that Grand Final. My biggest aspiration is to win a Grand Final winners ring and if I can achieve that, I’ll be one happy lad and I think everyone else would be too but the hard work starts now.”
