The two Development Days will be held towards the end of October with a session for Year 9 boys on Thursday 28th October, with a session for Year 10 boys the following day on Friday 29th October.

In addition to this, the Warriors are also relaunching their Under 16s (Year 11) Futures Development programme, which will recommence on Monday 1st November, 7pm-8pm at Robin Park Arena.

The Futures Development programme will run as a 5-week programme with fixtures to be played at St Helens and Warrington in a round robin format on the dates below:

  • Saturday 6th November – Venue TBC
  • Saturday 13th November – Venue TBC
  • Saturday 20th November – Venue TBC

Through the summer months the Warriors held development sessions to provide an opportunity to young aspiring Rugby League players to develop their skills and knowledge of the sport.

Speaking on the Development Days, junior player development manager, Shane Eccles, said: “Our summer camps and Development Days were a resounding success through the summer with over 500 players taking the opportunity to attend and work on their rugby skills.

“We are now delighted to be able to offer more development opportunities in the October half term to build on the summer programme and help improve the skills of young players. This is great opportunity for young players to come and train at the Wigan Warriors top class facilities and get an insight into what it is like to be a Wigan Warrior.”
