Wigan’s U19s ease past Hull KR

Wigan Warriors Under-19s scored seven tries to win comfortably against Hull KR at Robin Park Arena on Saturday afternoon.

An opening try from Matty Nicholson in the 14th minute but Wigan in the driving seat and it got even better eight minutes later as Reagan Sumner crossed over, both tries were converted by Alex Sutton.

Despite a Hull KR touchdown in response, the Warriors soon regained a strong lead as Sutton went over, before Nicholson grabbed his second just before half time. Sutton converted to make it 22-6 at the break.

It was the visitors who got on the board first in the second half with a second try, but the Warriors soon re-gained their control, with three second half touchdowns from Max Wood, Logan Astley and a second for Sumner. Two of the three were converted by Sutton and the Warriors ran out 38-12 winners to claim their fifth consecutive victory.
