Georgia Wilson spoke to wiganwarriors.com as the Wigan Warriors Women prepare for their final Play-Off fixture in a Derby match against St Helens on Sunday.

The Women have lost all three Play-Off fixtures so far and must win on Sunday to have a chance of sealing a Semi-Final spot next weekend. On recent results, the Warriors winger said: “I think after last week’s performance on Sunday against Leeds, we were all feeling really positive about how we all defended with new players and younger players coming into the squad. We’ve just got to keep working hard and build on things that we did wrong.

“The result wasn’t in our favour but we took a lot away from the game on Sunday, so we just need to build on that ready for this weeks final Play-Off game.”

Sunday’s fixture is the first Women’s Derby match in two years, and both sides have claimed three wins each in their history.

Wigan Women’s top scorer, Wilson, is hoping for a strong finish to the campaign: “It could be our last game of the season, so we’ve got to give it our all and no matter what the result is we’ve got to go out and be proud and put in a good performance, making sure that we all work hard for each other and put in 110% for the full 80 minutes.”

See the Women’s Derby match live at the Totally Wicked Stadium this Sunday, tickets are available on the day priced at just £5, U12s Free. Alternatively, you can watch live on OurLeague or on Twitch.
