Warriors head back to school

Wigan Warriors captain Thomas Leuluai recently went back to school as the Community Foundation continues to spread the message of Rugby League across the Borough.

Leuluai attended St Bernadettes Primary School in Shevington in a bid to encourage youngsters to understand the history and the importance Rugby League has on society as a whole.

The former New Zealand international took part in a question-and-answer session before putting a few of them through their paces on the field.

Leuluai said: “Days like these are great for the Club, the game and more importantly the sport. I enjoyed seeing the children so happy and its extra special when they’re Wigan fans.”

Heather Rodgerson, PE Coordinator, added: “We’ve been really lucky to train with Tommy from the Warriors. The students have learned about speed, agility and quickness whilst scoring tries and avoiding defenders. It was wonderful to see everyone smiling and learning from a professional athlete.”
