This week at Wigan

  • Two games coming up this weekend.
  • First team and Women in action on Sunday.
  • Under-16s and Under-19s games postponed due to Covid-19 reasons.

There are two games set to be played this weekend with both the first team and Women in action on Sunday.

After five straight defeats in the Betfred Super League, Adrian Lam and his players are looking for a first win since 22nd May when they host Huddersfield Giants at the DW Stadium on Sunday afternoon (3pm K.O.). Please note that the kick-off time has been brought forward (originally 6:30pm) to avoid an overlap with the keenly anticipated Euro 2020 final that evening.

Wigan lost to St Helens on Sunday.

Half an hour after the first team kick-off, the Women get underway against Leeds Rhinos in Round 8 of the Betfred Women’s Super League. Arguably the most anticipated clash of the season so far, Leeds and Wigan head into the game at Victoria Park unbeaten in the first five games of the league season and both are sitting at the top of the ladder, with the Rhinos ahead on points difference.

Wigan’s Under-16s were due to travel to Victoria Park to face Warrington on Wednesday night, but the game has been postponed because of Covid-19 reasons.

Our Under-19s were also scheduled to be in action this week – on Friday – against Castleford Tigers at Lock Lane but this game has also been postponed due to Covid-19 reasons.
