Coach Quotes

Speaking to wiganwarriors.com, Women’s boss Kris Ratcliffe said his team are looking forward to getting back on the field this weekend.

“We have had some good results against Featherstone in the past, but in our last game against them they turned us over. That was a loss that still hurts the ones involved. We have waited a while to right that wrong, the girls will be fired up.

“Featherstone are big and physical, very similar to the other Yorkshire teams. They will try and rough us up and out-muscle us, we are well prepared in that sense coming off the back of the Castleford win. That win has really lifted us and there’s a good vibe in camp.

“We have used the week off well as it coincided with the appointment of a new strength and conditioning coach in Jamie Winter. He has come in, introduced himself and made the girls wish he hadn’t arrived! They’ve worked really hard in that area every session since our last game. So we certainly haven’t been resting on our laurels.

“Georgia Wilson picked up an injury on international duty and will miss out, but other than that we are picking from full strength and looking forward to getting back on the field this week.”
