Injury update
Get the latest on the Wigan Warriors squad ahead of Wednesday’s Betfred Super League clash against Warrington Wolves.
The Cherry and Whites will host Steve Price’s men for the first time in 2021 on Wednesday at the DW Stadium, 7:45pm K.O.
Ahead of the game, head coach Adrian Lam gave an indication of the players he had available for the Round 12 fixture.
Injury news
Bevan French will be unavailable for the rest of the 2021 season following surgery to repair a hamstring injury sustained against Salford last month. Learn more HERE.
Speaking about French, Lam said: “He’s going to miss the rest of the season. He’s had the operation, and as a club we’ve got to move forward. He’s gone back to Australia to do his rehab and to spend some much needed time with his family.
“The good news is that he’s taken his option to remain at the club for the 2022 season.”
Zak Hardaker misses out this week with a neck injury. Discussing the injury on Monday, Lam said: “He’s formed an issue with the vertebrae in his neck and top of his back. it’s causing some pins and needles in other areas which isn’t good.
“At the moment he’s gonna be at least another two or three weeks out because of that issue. It’s a very dangerous place so we have to be cautious, and it might mean more recovery afterwards.”
Second row John Bateman is an absentee this week after suffering an ankle injury last week when on international duty with England. “He’s getting some scans today so we should know more soon.”
Dom Manfredi remains sidelined with a knee injury. The winger announced on Sunday that he’d be retiring at the end of the season after being advised on medical grounds. Learn more HERE.
Jai Field continues his recovery from a torn hamstring he suffered in Round 1 against Leigh Centurions in March.
